Car shut off
Re: Car shut off
The dealer should replace it for free IIRC. I don't know exactly how they deal with recalls though. I've never actually shopped for anything like that, but I guess you can check your typical places like Auto Zone or Advance Auto or any similar place of that sort. I'd still call your local Honda dealer and have them check it out.
Re: Car shut off
Its a 96 OBDI i think they guy that put mine together put the wrong kind of map sensor in mine. Greddy t3 turbo also a vtech um not sure what else might have wrong distributor in it to.
Re: Car shut off
Okay, you already know where the sensor is, so I'll give you the other stuff.
You need to locate the PCM. I don't know the circuit numbers off hand, but the colors for the wires are as follows:
Yellow/Red is the power wire
Green/White is the ground wire
Red/Green is the signal wire to the PCM.
You're going to want to disconnect the sensor. Turn the key on. Not the engine. Just cycle the key until it gets to where you can use all the accessories.
Take your pins and check for voltage between the power and ground wires. You'll want to place your pins in CAREFULLY as you can damage the wires. Don't stab them into the wires. Just place the pins in behind the wires. You've been warned. Just take your time. Turn on your voltmeter and check the voltage. You should have 5 volts. If it's lower than that, your sensor wires may be bad. Any fellow forum members wanna help me out? I think I covered a good chunk of the test, but I think there is another part that I'm missing right now.

Re: Car shut off
alright, first off the first thing you need to tell on the first post is that you have a turbo.
if it's the map itself, well, you need to take the car to a shop with a dyno and talk to them and try to figure it out first. no online help will work at this stage.
Besides that, just try what MelJ said first and if that does not work, follow the above. No point in mental masturbation of "what if?" at this point.
