Buzzing/Grinding noise at rpm.
Buzzing/Grinding noise at rpm.
I have a 96 Civic EX sedan, automatic (unfortunately) I have a weird grind noise mixed witha buzz coming from the right area of the engine, probably from the transmission. Here are the facts about it.
Again its more of a Hollow sounding grind mixed with a buzz, coming from the transmission area. The Transmission performs normally other than seeming to have a 5th gear at cruise... It also tends to bounce one time, downshifting from 3rd into 2nd when accelerating out of a turn.
Thanks ahead of time. ~ Austin
- Only buzzes at 2k-2.5k RPM
- Louder with more acceleration
- Slightly lower with deceleration
- Loudest in the lower gears

Re: Buzzing/Grinding noise at rpm.
If it were a constant noise that only got worse, I would suspect that. I just cant figure this out. The sound is somewhat hollow, but like a grinding-buzz.
Of of like when rotating fan blades at high speed just barely make contact with the cage surrounding it.
