Question 99' LX starting and stalling issue

Ive got a 99' civic lx, for the past few months it has been stalling on me while driving, mainly through town or something. and then when i try to start it back up i have to try it 5-10 times for it to start. it is very random becuse it can happen within 2 minutes of driving or 2 hours. the most ive had it happen to me is after driving for about 20 minutes, and i stop for gas, start it back up and basically just pull out of the gas station and the thing will shut off again. ive tryed another ignition coil but this did not fix it. anyone have any other ideas??

Pull all 4 spark plugs let me know what the ends look like. If you have never done so do a complete tune up, new plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, clean throttlebody with some throttlebody cleaner and clean the idle air control valve, download the manual in my sig as it will be most helpful with pics and info.

Re: 99' LX starting and stalling issue

so i pulled the plugs and all 4 were fairly white. not so much right on the tip where the v-groove is, but all around them was white. i dont know how old they are or anything....also, i think i have discovered that the car will not stall or give me problems starting if i keep the lights turned off! would this mean a deffinate bad ignition switch?

Re: 99' LX starting and stalling issue

your car is burning lean, meaning its either a plugged fuel filter, plugged injectors, or a faulty fuel pump usually. There can also be a fault for the 02 sensor reading the primary one which can cause this issue.
