Question d16y7 throttle problem#%@&

D16y7 engine, 1998 Honda Civic, 149,000 miles.

So I found out that my stock intake cover was off and the air filter was hanging loose (check engine light came on and I drove it like this for 100 miles) I pulled some codes and got P1399, 1300, 1301, 1302 (random cylinder misfires). It was running like s h i t. Left it in the driveway for two months because it didn't pass smog w/ the CEL on!! Two months later, tried to start it and it wouldn't, turned out the distributor coil was damaged after many failed attempts to jump the car. Replaced the coil and used some Quick Start spray in the throttle body and ......................Now the car works but it idles from 1500 rpm --> 2000 rpm. !!!!

What I did:

- cleaned the throttle plate (it was dirty) with carb choke cleaner
- replaced with new air filter
- resetted the ECU...10 minutes
- drove for about 15 miles and the CEL came back on!!! ( F * * K)

What I did next:

- removed the throttle body and adjusted the idle air screw but it still idles
- check engine light came on again
- checked for leaks (I blocked the intake airway and the engine shutted off) no leaks right???
- I putted everything back on (this car is stock) and gave up. I'm a DIY type of guy & now I'm here in the forum seeking your help..

What else could be the problem? Throttle position sensor, PCV valve, more crap in the throttle body itself to be cleaned? I'm beginning to hate the car.
