Clicking noise

I have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex, and I hear a single click coming from the engine (or possibly the passenger side). It can be heard best with the windows down, and most often at lower speeds, although this may simply be because increased noise at high speeds obscures the sound.

I think that the noise is triggered by applying or letting off the throttle. Any ideas?

Re: Clicking noise

could be a broken engine mount causing the engine to move back and forth a bit.

Re: Clicking noise

Engine mounts seem fine.

Any other ideas?

Re: Clicking noise

Happens without running ac.

Based on research I was wondering if it could be a bearing, related to the CV axle or a control arm or something.

Bottom line: should I be worried about it safety-wise?

Re: Clicking noise

Maybe a rock or nail is stuck in your tread? Describer your clicking better, or make a video and we might be able to help you a little more.

Re: Clicking noise

Definitely not anything in the tread, just got new tires.

The clicking is relatively high pitched, it's a single click that occurs when I engage or disengage the throttle, especially when shifting, but not only when shifting. I'm thinking it might be a bearing relating to the control arms or CV axle, but I don't know for sure.
