K well I posted my 02 dx coupe on craigslist for trades... not really planning on trading it since i do love it, but to see what offers were out there. I got a ton of ridiculous offers (even a stock 94 civic DX, wtf would i trade my 02 for a 94 seriously??!!). Up until this morning the only even reasonable offer (tho i wasnt really considering it much) was a 2000 Audi A4 1.8t.

Then I check my email this morning... an offer for a 94 Mits 3000gt twin turbo! It looks awesome (with the exception of a crack in one of the side skirts but thats cheap) all black leather, but 140k (meh my civ has close to 120k now).


I'm really thinking on this one... I love the civic, but that seems like a sweet deal since i always catch myself staring at 3000gt's when they drive by...


What is your opinions?? Would you do it? (Note my vic is pretty well stock other than exhaust and interior things, and it has a crack in the rear bumper and dings here n there)

lol id take the 94 they kick *** lol but really the audi would spank the 3000 in everything. i cant believe someone offer a audi for a civic.

no offense but your civic is a dx. its pretty much the base of the base and unless im missing alot of info it looks basically stock. for someone to offer an audi for that. id take it and run lol

The resale value on an Audi is way lower after several years then a Honda... And they have much more problems then your honda will ever have. My buddies A4 needed the motor replaced after 2 years... and he was driving it like a grandma. I dunno... the 3kgt is a pretty cool car n all, but... I dunno, do your homework.

it may drop alot but thats because they cost 3x's as much new. you could flip it, and get a 3000gt or whatever and probably have money left over to put into it. but I would check out this audi carefully cause theres gotta be something up.

I've talked to the kid a bit, from what I'm hearing, theres no mechanical problems with it, but it could use paint as the clearcoats flaking. Basically he is a 16y/o kid who got his parents car as a hand-me-down, and wants something a little more sporty looking. apparently cheap dash paint and a loud exhaust attract teenagers regardless.

civic more sporty looking than a 3000gt? i think you ate some paint chips when you painted your interior. i smell bullshit on the audi. nobody would be that stupid to trade a A4 for a civic.

No bullshit, his is older + more miles. & is a vermont car (i brought mine up here from the south) so its probably got underbody rust. Main reason i have decided against it.

& kid thought the civic was sportier than his A4, which really it does look sportier, being his is a green sedan vs my black coupe. the 3000gt is obv older, and has wayyy more miles than mine (about 60k more) and needs new paint pretty badly, which is why he wants to trade, the 3000gt is still in project times, and my civic is ready to go other than a 4" slice/crack in the rear bumper.

what are you looking for a project car or a car thats already done? im from Canada and we get alot more snow than you guys and salt and my car has no rust at all :P and its a 97'

Well every car I get is an ongoing project. I just need to decide if I really want to start all over.


& I'm about 15 minutes from the canada/us border. an hour to montreal (id estimate)
