Re: Need help on headlight ES1

when the high beams are on (meaning the blue indicator is on, on the dashboard), then both bulbs should be on.

the highbeams are another filament in the bulb that's on in the 2nd picture

DRL's are the other filament in the 2nd picture.

Normal night time lights are exactly what your first picture is: outside bulb on and inside bulb off

ThAt is incorrect.

For the 01-03 when the lowbeam is low beAm is on, the hight beam is off. When the high beam is on? The low beam is off. (unlike the 04-05)

What you need to fix this is a Proper hid relay.

Re: Need help on headlight ES1

yeah normally the 04-05 headlights keep the lo beam on when the hi beam is used. but since you are starting with 01-03 car and wiring for h4 bulb, the hi beam turns off the lo beam. you need to make a new relay harness for the lo beams and run the hi beams off the stock wiring. if youre not good with electrical and wire diagrams, i would leave it as is. the way you have it wired now will still pass inspection no problem. many cars with separate lo and hi turns off the lo beam in hi beam mode too.

ahhh i forgot he mentioned he did a front end conversion. what i said should still be what it would look like on an 04-05.

Re: Need help on headlight ES1

you can use the diagram i made for my hid lo beams relay harness. instead of the d2s ballasts in the pic, substitute the 9006 lo beam halogen bulbs. wire the hi beams the same way as in the diagram to the stock wiring as indicated. this is for 01-03 civic so the wire colors are correct.
