Question Tweeters and Rear Deck

Whats up fellow Sound Heads. I am currently in the process of upgrading the sound system in my 04 Civic Sedan. I just installed a new Pioneer HU and am just waiting on the Infinity Kappa Components to come in. I was thinking of installing the tweeters in the door the way they are in the 2005 Vics (near the door handle). Has anyone attempted this yet? If so, how did it go for you? Anything I should look out for? Or maybe just avoid putting them in the door all together?

I also wanted to put some Infinity Kappas(6.5in) in the Rear Deck but according to Crutchfield, they won't fit. What does everyone else have in their rear deck? I don't like to combine different brands so I think I might have to make them work....thoughts?

for the rear deck, you probably need 6x9s, and for the front some q-logic kick panel are gonne be the best bet for the biggeest components for our cars, without mods to our doors. goto HIFI Buys or Tweeter, i know for a fact they will make them fit, but for some good $$$$. and tweeters on the rear deck sound pretty clear if you wanna attempt, my friend has them in his 03 civic. right abouve where the seat is on the rear facing the passenger and driver.

BTW....welcome to 7thGen

Sedan uses 6" round anyway.....
You'd better luck to install and aim it on the corner of A-pillar instead of near door handle, that gives you more "distance" to the sound....

I have my stock in the rear which is NOT powered....

I hear a lot of different things about the placement of the tweeters. I guess that I will have to do some trial and error testing with some 3M tape to see what works best. The Q-Logic kick panels seem like they might be a good idea...but I would lose my dead pedal and to be honest my speakers would be destroyed with all the snow, rain, salt and sand that is on the bottom of my shoes. Plus I drive in a **** load of traffic everyday here in Southern CT I need that dead pedal it's a standard!! Those are out of the question.

Why would you keep the stock speakers in the rear deck? They perform horribly...very low power and just a disgusting sound at least in my opinion. I'm going to power it all. If I can get those 3 voice Kappas in the back I think that will work. Burke where did your boy install those tweeters in the back? The A-pillars? Oh and by the way in the sedan they are 6'' round in the back, not 6x9's.

The reason why I keep the stock is that, I don't want to touch the rear panel, and I don't put any power to those....I am a 3D system (FL, FR, sub) guy.....I have Dynaudio System 340 in front, putting dome mid/tweeter in Q-form and the huge 7" mid in door....Rear just doesn't make sense to me and not until I set up 5.1 system I won't touch it...

Do you find that you step on the Qforms a lot? Do you have a 4 door or 2 door?
