which would sound clearer?

i'm changing all my audio to Pioneer (please dont bash, they are just my choice in brand), for my 6x9's i'm thinking either 3 way 6x9 speakers that handles up to 80watts RMS or put a 6.5 in there which is a 4 way speaker and handles 50 watts RMS. i am getting a 4 channel amp that will power the 4 speakers that puts out 50 watts per channel. i want to try and get some more vocals in to balance out with my 2 12" subs. which would get better sound, a 4 way speaker thats fully powered or a 3 way thats a little more than half way powered?

To be honest, they'll both sound about the same on the mids and highs. Tweeters and the little 1-2inch mids on 3 and 4-way speakers are the easiest to power. The difference will show up in the mid-bass. The 6.5's will have a better mid-bass response, but the 6x9's will have the ability to go that much lower, based on the sizes of their magnets and cone size.

ill bet the 6.5's are clearer, and have stronger vocals to boot. but thats not based on real experience

do 6.5's front and back
you wont need the bass from the 6x9's because youll have your subs so the speaker will produce more vocals
