what do u think of the following setup...[im a NooB..]
hey there, i was thinking of the following.
an amp with 500-600watts
10inch sub with 500-1200watts..
ok, i have no idea about this stuff really but i will end up doing most of it myself. one major question that i have is, is my battery gonna be able to run my amp with out anyproblems to other power supplies?
and is the amp good enough with 500watts?
i am not shooting for a really loud system, just one were i have a good kick in it and still have the ability to turn it up a bit if i wanted/need to....
my sound sys. in my HX is stock except for my radio itself, its a sony cd/mp3 with a build in amp(shitty one of course :-D)
i will appriciate any replies, thanks in advance guys!

is cap the full name or what does it stand for?
and do you say that i need it because of the amps pwr?
also
do u think that the woofer im thinking about has a too high watt range compared to the amps?
oh, and how much would a cap be? :-D
thanks alot!
PS, u want me to just call it xplod? ok, ya know an mp3 player is a mighty fine investment i think. epsecially in the car.

A Capacitor is the full name, and you should not need one. I wouldn't get one, especially not yet. Try out the system and see if your lights dim or anything.
THe specs of that sub.. it doesn't seem too good. the numbers are good, bit for $80 (what i found online) It seems like one of those gimmicky brands that aren't that good.
I'd read around the boards a little more. How much are you looking to spend on the sub and amp?

i am trying to rather keep the price to a min. now that doesnt mean i wanna buy cheap products,
i expected to spend something in the range of 400bucks but would rather spend 300. i dont expect to pay less then that though.
the speakers that i posted i like from the looks, from the number i dont have a very good idea what they mean and ****...
how much do peeps usually spend on a system that is comparrable to what im thinking about?

I don't know of that brand, it just looks like one of those cheap brand though :-/ Here's what i'd recommend:
1 12" Adire Audio Shiva ($125) http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_aud...vers/shiva.htm
1 ~300 watts rms amplifier (~$150) Just get a decent brand 2 channel and bridge it.
1 MDF box (~$25) homebuilt
All of that plus a wiring kit shouldn't run too much more than $300, maybe less if you get a deal on an amp and wiring kit.
