Quick Amp Question

I just searched and learned how to bridge my fosgate 500.1bd to my 12" perfect DVQ but I was wondering if it will take more power or if I have to change any settings on the amp before I run it.....

Forgot the D, it is a dual voice coil

If you have a 500.1 then it is a 1 channel amp and can not be bridged.

Channels 1
Per channel power 300 W X 1 @ 4 Ohms RMS

600 W X 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS
Total power 600 Watts RMS

Shouldn't I want to have it pushing only 2 channels for 1 12" sub? So I could connect it or bridge it so I would have it, or how would I get it to 2 channels for the one sub?

Nevermind, I got it all worked out, thanks though

Bridging is when you take two channels and make them one by taking the + from one channel and the - from the other channel and hooking that up to your sub. But your amp has ONE channel. You are getting confused by the way it's worded on the rockford site. Your amp pushes 300 watts at 4 ohm, OR 600 watts at 2 ohm. It is a ONE channel amp, therefor it can not be bridged. It just gives out two different wattages based on what ohm (resistance) your subs are. The only way to get 600 watts out of it is by wiring your sub at 2 ohm. That is the maximum power output of your amp.
