i cant tell you what you should get, i can tell who wins in each category
btw, the L5 is just a fixed up kicker xpl
loudness = L7 wins
sound quality = L7 wins
power handling = L7 wins
price = L5 wins

I say go with the L5..unless your doing extensive sound deadening work and taking to build and properly tune the box to the car you'll never know the difference.
The L5's are more efficient and get a bit louder on less power. It all depends on how much you want to spend...it's very doubtful your ears will ever know the difference

I have a Rockfor Fosgate Punch 500.2, It's about 2 years old.
But that's the minimum power to push that sub... it can take a helluva lot more.
Get the sub... you will love it.

Hefe how loud does it play with the 500.2 goin to it. Im thinking of doing like 600 watts to each one but I dunno if thats goin to be enough or not. I thought about 1,000 watts to each one but thatll put 3,000 watts just to the subs alone not counting the interoir, and I think that might be overkill on wattage. But if it takes a 1,000 to make those boys slam then so be it.
more power is always better. even if it is too loud for you or yoru car, you can always jsut turn it down. that potential can be nice tho, on occasion, like for impressing friends
or complete strangers

It's really hard to explain how loud it sounds... But before i had the L7, i had 2 Kicker Comps. I was pushing the Comps with the same Punch 500, then i got the L7 and took out the Comps.. and that one L7 was louder, sounded better, and more bass than those Comps.. when people ask me "What do you have back there?" I tell them One L7.. and they are usually like
Then they are like "let me see it", then i show them.. and they are "WOW"...
I like it.

so it will pound off the 500. Im leaning towards the 600 watters just due to costs right now since ive been over slurging on the car lately. But would say 3,500 watts(1,000 for each woofer and 500 for the interior) be just way to much on the car. I know a new alternator is most likely in order alreay got a shop here in Savannah ready to help me out with that but would I need a few caps and such too. Im goin to upgrade to probably 2 batteries, witha new alternator. Sorry for all the questions just tryin to do this rite the 1st go round to save on some hassles down the road.

Don't worry about all the questions... that's why we are here
yes it will pound with the 500... but not to it's full potential.
3500W is plenty. And if you get 2 batteries and a big-*** 170amp altenator, i don't think you will need a Cap or 2... But WhiteRabbit... correct me if i'm wrong...

I beleive Zapco makes a 2200 watt amp....you should get that.
It's only about $3,500. But it does have an optional PCI card to interface with your computer to adjust it. I wish I had the money for one.....

Thats what I plan on doing, give each woofer its own amp just trying to decide what amp would be the best to push them. Looking give them each around 1,000 watts. Was thinking about doing Kicker amps because from what Im told judges at shows like it when you stick to one brand over pieces from every brand. Any suggestions are helpful. And I want all 3 in there for the xtra boom.
well, judges arent gonna care for SPL, since its all posted on teh mic, and for SQ, i doubt very much that yrou setup is even remotely neccesary to hit 130 dB of music...
i wouldnt worry abotu what the judges think.
