Remote wire on stock head unit

Sorry if anyone has posted this question already. I'm new to the forum and I haven't had a chance to get through all the great information people have posted yet.

So here's my question. I just bought a 2k3 EX sedan, and I added a small pioneer sub and amp. Nothing huge, just wanted to round out the sound a little bit. I've got the amp wired right now so that there's a killswitch for the power mounted under the driver's side seat.

I'd like to wire the amp so that it turns off when the stock HU turns on and off, but I'm not sure if it even has a remote wire. Does anyone know if it does, and if so what the color coding is?

Theres no remote wire on the stock unit but alot of people have spliced the positive on the cig. lighter and used that for the remote because its an accessory so it will turn on with the car and off with it...thats the best thing that I can think of.. next time do alittle searching though becuase this has been covered a ton of times..good luck

I ran mine from the fuse box which might be even easier to do since its just right under the steering wheel. It was easy and hasn't caused any problems for me yet.

Thanks. The way I have it set up, I've got a temporary kill switch mounted under the driver's seat. It wouldn't be much to run the wire just a little further to the fuse box. Maybe I'll give that a try.
