LOL, Diamond Audio = NO NAME BRAND!....
i came back from bestbuy a little bit ago ( i know its early, i couldn't sleep, then i remembered that i needed cd-r's ).
anyways, i just fool around at bestbuy for a while, and of course, i go to the car audio section of the store. i look around at some decks and stuff, and this guy greets me, asks me if i want help. i tell him no, just looking around. then he asks if i need anything, because they have sales going on, and some clearance and open box items. i tell him no, i have a system, and i dont need anything else, just looking around, then the conversation starts :
guy: so what do you have in your car?
me: a clarion deck, diamond audio speakers, amps, and sub.
guy: diamond audio? oh, that no name stuff from the net.
me: no, not no name stuff from the net.
guy: i've seen that stuff, its okay, but this is better ( points at JENSEN AMP ).
me: whatever dude, if that makes you sleep better at night.
guy: i have that amp and 2 rockford subs in my car, and it rocks.
me: cool.
guy: i'm sure its louder and sounds better than any diamond audio product.
me: ok.
guy: did you install everything yourself?
me: yep.
guy: then you should let us take a look at it, maybe we can fix it for you and make it sound better, but you will probably be happier with some new equipment.
me: fix it? there's nothing wrong with it, where the hell did you get the idea it doesn't sound good?
guy: because i heard that stuff, and it doesn't sound good at all, and i dont even want to think about the reliability of diamond stuff.
me: dude, you obviously dont know ****, and speaking out of your *** doesn't help any. ( then i walk away. he didn't say anything, but i bet he gave me the finger or something, and then told the other employees there how dumb i am ).
sorry for the long post, i never had a conversation like that with someone, i just thought it was funny, how he was talking ****.

Hey Slick, I work for Best Buy, and I know some of our sales people talk out of their a$$. If you could tell me what store you went to and the name of the sales person I will try to get in contact with his sales manager. I'm not trying to be a little bitch but sales people like that are the reason we get bashed by real car audio enthusiasts. As an installer I would like to think I know more than the average sales person, but there is still a lot to learn. I am always open to suggestions. By the way Diamond Audio product is excellent, not that you already didn't know that.

i dont know what the guys name was, i never got it from him, the conversation was quite short.
it was the bestbuy in oklahoma city, by crossroads mall. i go there a lot, usually to buy dvd's, cd's, cd-r's, and on occasions a tv or something like that. i never saw this guy before, he must be new, but thats still no excuse. he didn't have a name tag, aren't BB employees suppose to have name tags?

So anyways, i was at circuit city once, and i asked the guy if they sold monster cables 401 xln's...........he told me that they stopped selling them because the 201 series was the same thing...sucks for monster cable that they sell the same product with a different name.........i personally never have and never will buy from best buy or circuit city......unless they have a huge sale and i'd just ignore the sales person completely.......because they have absoutely nooo training or idea what they are talking about

Ive had symilar problems at Best Buy when trying to get a part for my alarm. I will not buy anything form there car audio section and I only go to the store for other things if its my last resort. It seems the car audio section has been thinning out on there selection, at least at the store I go to, probably because lots of people are having these peoblems.

<<<No but you did. You could wire each speaker for a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load but as a pair only a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load.

Ahh i see but that's not exactly the whole truth there, the diagrams that your website reference referred to was for bridged, or one channel operation, a two channel amp not bridged would run at either 2 ohms or 8 ohms...........
