More on my street glow underbody neon problem

Ok, so I pretty much nailed it down to that they do not work at night. I just tried having my headlights on and driving it with them and my stereo blasting, and they still came on after 15 minutes of driving. At night they will flicker very briefly and then go out. I live in So Cal so I cant imagine really that its that cold out unless they are that touchy, but that could be the only thing that im thinking of. Anyone have any ideas on that?

I did notice something though, my internal switch does not light up. IM not sure if its the switch that came with the kit or not, but it does not light up.

Also one of the wires from the transformer seem to go under the ignition cover deal? Any ideas on why that would be?

Once again I tried it tonight and they do not work, and it is by far cold out. Its like the time of day, as if a timer was causing a problem or something odd like that.

did you check yrou wiring and switch? i posted this hours ago, but it somehow didnt go through......

make sure your getting relaible reliable power down there, and make sure that switch is reliable. I'll bet anything that its in teh electronics, whether its yrou wiring or the transformer, ill bet some component is on its last legs.

ok i have some questions.
1. when you turn them on during the day it works but then at night it doesnt?
2. your internal switch, its the switch you use to turn them on/off? when you turn it on (the switch) is it supposed to light up? if so does it light up?
3. how do you have it wired up? is it wired directly to the battery?
4. could you explain what ignition cover your talking about?
so far to me, it sounds like either a loose connection or a bad ground. which reminds me, where is it grounded?

Im almost positive its not temp. The only ones that realy have to warm up it seems are the small tubes in my experience. I could be wiring but it realy sounds like there not getting enouph power. I would check wire gauges and make sure where ever your getting the power from has enough. The fact that it happens mostly at night might be because the headlights are taking the power. Check your battery to make sure its maintaining a good charge also. Did the switch ever light up? if so, it could be shorting on something as well.

No the switch apparently from what the installers said is not the same one that came with it. As far as how its wired im not really sure (taking it back to the place Friday to have it looked at). And its not the headlights cause the other day while I was driving it around during the day with the headlights for 40 minutes and they worked fine.

It seems as night progresses they get worse. I tried it last night at 6:00 and they worked fine, as well as 7:00 and 7:45. I tried it though at 8:15 and it didnt work at first but played with it for a few minutes and they worked and I could switch it off and on no problem (like they had to charge or something). Then at 8:45 I tried it and had to play with it for like 10 minutes before they would come on reliabily. And then at 9:30 it took me almost 20 minutes of me screwing with turning it off and then back on and then off again before I could get it to work.

My Dad and I are going to try making sure its grounded properly tonight and see if that makes a difference. Ill let everyone know cause this problem is stupid and driving me insane.
