Has anyone installed these components up front? if so? do they fit easily? blahblahblah? did you use a spacer, etc etc etc, also Where did you put your crossovers? in the door? did you wrap them? every audio shop I've asked said they put them in the doors and they wrap them....

you will most likely need a spacer because there isn't that much mounting depth in our doors ( in a coupe there isn't for sure, maybe the sedan is different ). and mounting the crossovers in the doors is probably the easiest thing to do, just make sure you do wrap them so they dont get wet, and make sure that in mounting the xovers, you dont screw that deep in the doors, the windows may hit the screws or something, be careful.

oh sorry, forgot to mention that you will most likely need a 1" spacer, but you might be able to do with .5" - .75". also, you might need to cut this ring around the inner part of the door panel, you will see if when the door panel is off.

i had these installed in my coupe, it actually wasnt that bad, just took some *****. i dont know if youve seen the old post about how someone dremeled out hte stock speaker outa the mounting ring and used that ring. thats what i did for the woofer part of the components. the only part thats a little scary is you have to turn the triangle shaped hole into your door into a circle shaped hole enough to clear the basket, after that its a piece of cake. its worth it. i didnt mount my crossover in my doors, i mounted them on the back of the fold down seat next to my 4 channel amp and ran two sets of wire to the door. i didnt want a chance of the crossovers gettin damaged from moisture of anything.

if i had to redo it, i would rather pay the 60 bucks to get them installed just for the hassle of pullin the wires through the door and grindin down the metal. you dont need a spacer only if you dont mind destroying your stock speakers
Its worth mounting the crossovers somewhere else other than the door, trust me I went through it and it made my speakers sound like crap, i ran the speaker wires through the rubber hose between the door and the car with a coat hanger wire, and i left the crossover in the center console. Oh also when you are installing the Infinity Kappas, you should order some foam Baffles from crutchfield, they block moisture and some water from getting on the speaker. I have seen rust form on the speaker and water stains on it, yuck.

I used a jigsaw to cut out the stock speaker the same way, it works pretty well. I have the infinity reference speakers so I don't know about clearence in the doors but mine fit fine (mine are smaller I think). The crossovers however, I used to have in the doors but I could not keep them from getting wet. No matter what I tried they still got wet. I moved them to sit inside the kick panels. They aren't screwed down or anything but it fit just fine and the kick panels just snap in over them. Good Luck!
