Who said that?? You can put anything where you want it, sometimes you just need to be a little creative, I have the Boston 653pro 3way components in my doors personally, and really wan't that bad to make a pod for the mid and tweet.

I didn't cut the front door at all. I made a 5/8" ring out of MDF and used some one-sided weather stripping. The whole process took all day though. Doing the first speaker in front took about 1 hour and the first speaker in the rear (once I got to them) took about 1 hour as well. The second up front and in rear only took 30 between the two.

The reason it took so long is, I sprayed sound deadining material all over the doors and panels as well as inside the trunk. It sounds sweet in there now. (No road noise!!) Infinity Kappas ROCK!

Crutchfield, Best Buy, Circuit City and even Honda said that 3-way Infinity Kappas were to deep to mount in the front doors. They only clear the glass by a "C" hair.

I bet those Bostons sound pretty Sweet eh?

The Kappa's fit... The Kappa Perfects do not.. .. ALso. I'm guessing if you looked the drivers side window actually has more clearance than the passengers side.. the 2 civics I put speakers in so far were like that.. . My WIndows do not close all the way though

he he
Cheers

This is the thread i was waiting for. I was wondering if that 1/16 of an inch was going to make a difference if i was going to use a spacer. I am assuming you put in the 6.5's?? Because I want to put in the component set in my car.
Mohawk, your window doesnt close all the way, or are you saying they dont open all the way, because I want to open my windows all the way and that would kind of suck if they didnt close.

I had the beer while working. Maybe that's why it took all day!
