Rattling?

Hey I have a question about unusual amount of rattle in my rear deck and how to fix it besides using fatmat/dynamat any suggestions? (preferably no socks, heh)

stick a sock between your 3rd brake light and the metal under it. USE THE SOCK

before i carpet my rear deck, will it make a big difference if i carpet over the speaker grid piece? i have 3 ways back there, but they will be pretty quiet compared to my mb quarts in the front. my gut says that the carpeting will surpress the highs but do little to the midbass, but i wanted to be sure...

it would probably supress it all somewhat, plus i thought it looked kinda cool with the 2 setctions taken off, more of a stock look

Why would it look ghetto?? Other cars have carpeted rear decks and I think it looks fine. I dont think the carpet would muffle that much sound, would it?? I saw WhiteRabbits pics first of his deack, and thought that is gotta be a nice mod. Because it probably gets rid of the one big rattle as the deck just sits against the window. I also think it look nice finished off. Ludlam, where did you pick up your carpet at, Just wondering. And I assume you pop out the 3rd brake light, and get the carpet behind that?

not carpetting the rear deck..... actual carpet over the speaker grille
like ludlam's deck looks nice, but over the speaker "grid" too would
be ghetto

i got my carpet online, its just standard speaker box carpet, available everywhere... here's a pic of what the thing looks like while in car.

the third light just pops up too, by the way, whiterabbit's has carpet over the grills because he was no rear speakers, but the funny thing about his car, is you really can't see his rear deck anyways (sub box is in the way)

i'll ask him if i can put one of his car's pics up
