crap! think I fried it..
Ok
well I used to have 2 wal-mart neons in my interior of my car
one day they died and the switch didnt work, so I decided to re-wire them.
well I got a new switch and got one cable going to the ground, and one cable spliced in (actualy jammed into the back of) the 12volt cig lighter for power.
I wanted to test if the switch worked, so i plugged in the ground and then gently touched the power cable to the power slot.
Then there was a spark and the cig lighter adaptor started to smoke!
So I unplugged everything, and just tried the 12volt cig lighter to see if it worked, and, well unless my adaptors defective, it didnt work.
What did I do? is there a fuse for the cigarette lighter?
Help would be appreciated! I dont care about the neons anymore, but I cant loose my cig lighter!
I routed my neons directly, didnt do it the DIY way with distributors and what not... was there too much power or something..?

i ran my neons by tapping into the fog lite wires, no problems yet, have a switch no need to install another, and have been running for 8 months, not that that'll help you any now, but yeah, you may wanna check the fuse...
