what box for 12" fosgate POWER hx2

just wondering what size enclosure i should use for 1 12" power hx2...
i dont care about quality, just spl...
i wanted a ported but then i need a sub sonic filter cause jbl doesnt have one...
so ya what size sealed should i go with?
and if i do get a sub sonic filter imma go with a ported so what size box/ports so i want?

that depends my friend... what do you listen to, what are you going for (***** out loud, kinda loud, striclty quality)

Build to of 2.2 cubic feet with a 4 inch port that is 9 inches deep...this should tune you to around 40 hz and will be good to ..... if you have more room and want to go big let me know so that i can design you a box with a slot port.

isnt that tuning a tad bit high? i dunno, youre the one that works for fosgate..

You have to tune it higher for more output. The f3 of the box is still in the mid 30's. i had my old box tuned to 44 no problem [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

if you go a sealed box you wont need a sub sonic filter, if you go ported you can buy those sonic filter adapter

eh, i just got a 1 cubic sealed for $25... thats the only size they had.. if i find a ported box the size i want then i'll probably get it but for now i'm fine with this.. the SQ isnt to great but ya it does thump.. i'm only running it in 4 ohms so pushing only 600watts to it now.. i'll probably re-wire it in a week or so and push 1200watts with the gains down of course... the excursion on these subs are almost looks like the subs going to take off and fly
