Official 7thgen Alternator Update

So this is the official 7thGen Civic alternator update. I've been doing some research and this is what I've come up with.

Here it is in price order:

1 - Stock, 70 Amp alternator. - Free with purchase of your honda.. lol

2 - mralternator.com - 140 amp cold rating (so like 120), internally regulated, lifetime warranty - $245

3 - Dominick Iraggi - 170 amp hot rated, internally regulated (external is $125 extra), 1 year warranty - $379

4 - Ohio Generators - 160 amp hot rated, dont know bout regulation ask mohawkboom, 1 year warranty i think - $616

the 140 amp is more than anyone here would EVER need considering theres so many of you running stock with the 70 amp and pushing close to 2 kilowatts, and the fact that it has a lifetime warranty, and it fits in the oem casing and all that crap. i myself plan to break the 2 kW mark in the upcoming months, so thats why im researching. Installation can be tedious, and you may not be able to do it, so a shop may have to do it. pm me or email me if you need to get in touch with Dominick or need to find an ohio alternator.

i odnt know about the iraggi or the ohio one, mohawkboom has the ohio one, ask him, i htink he knows about the iraggi ones too... it doesnt matter with the mralternator.com one, because they have a lifetime warranty.. do you even need one?

265 for a 120? they sent me an email saying 245 for a 140, so it would be 270 for a powder coated 140... hmmm... thats odd

your battery drained because you were running the stereo with the car off most likely, but regardless, that still doesn't sound like nearly enough wattage to put a dent in your electrical system...

when I asked months ago this was the response

"I can build you a 130amp direct replacement for 245.00, it would take a couple of weeks.
Thanks,
Tom"

I'll put it like this, my friend has a mid '80s Corolla with i think a 60 amp alternator...he has atleast 1100 watts of class A/B power and has been running it like that since at least '94, with no need for a new Alternator...and he bumps it hard.
