2ohm DVC=?????

i need a little help connecting my subs to my amp. i purchased two kicker comp vr 12" 2ohm subs, they are dual voice coil, they are going to be hooked up to a power acoustik apache 1400 watt amp. the amp is 370watts@4ohms x2 RMS. if i connect the coils on the sub in series that makes the sub 4ohm. ok i got that part. but i have two of them. so will my amp see it as an 8 ohm load??? or as a 2ohm load????
i would like to have it hooked up at either 2ohms or 4 ohms.

You're half way there. Now that you have the subs wired in series to create 4-ohm loads, wire the subs together in series to create a 2-ohm mono load. Be sure to check you amplifier's specifications as it may not be 2-ohm mono stable. With the subs you have, it would be impossible to achieve a 4-ohm mono load with the two of them. To do so would require the use of an impedance matcher or another amplifier to power the second sub.

Good luck!

wtf? wire each subs VC in series, then hook them up to the amp. your amp will see a 4 ohm resistance, since your amp is 370x2. the resistance is per channel.

Oops, my bad! I need to read these posts more carefully. I was thinking 370x1, not 370x2. Everybody hate on the new guy.

Are you suggesting that for the entire box? Or for each sub? A 2.50 cu. ft. enclosure sealed enclosure should be good for BOTH subs. Take your time in box building and you should be happy with the results.
