In-dash LCD screen

Does anyone know of a in-dash LCD screen that does not have a radio or dvd player? I am thinking of something that a computer can be hooked up to.

Right now I'm running a LCD with just a video-in on my dash. It's hooked up to my computer and a converter box that takes VGA and changes it to RCA (The yellow video plug).

EDIT:
And you can buy just a plain LCD on ebay and stuff.
Such as this

This is a good ebay search

Is it an in-dash lcd or just the lcd hook up to your dash? What kind of computer do you have hook up and how is it hook up. I have an old computer AMD 450mhz which I was thinking of taking it apart and getting a new smaller case, I want it for GPS and for MP3 playback.

I've got my LCD mounted on top of my dash and not in the spot for the head unit like other people.

There are a couple of pics I took forever ago when I was just testing my different options for the system. I have made SEVERAL modifications since then. Such as painting the computer case black and re-arranging the trunk... sorry don't have more current pictures... plus I'm going to re-arrange again.

Computer Specs:
P-III 450MHz
256MB RAM
1.2GB HD
40GB USB 2.0 HD (Holds music videos and MP3s)
Custom programmed interface for playing MP3s and Vids.

Current Functions:
Plays MP3s (currently have 2,934)
Plays Music Videos (currently have 73)

Functions to come:
Increased Computer Speed
Ripping CDs
Burning CDs
GPS
Internet

I got the VGA to RCA off of ebay. Something such as this.

EDIT:
Forgot to mension about the in-dash LCD..... you can buy LCDs that is not in an outer casing that is good for using as in-dash.

I thought this same thing, but I've never had a problem with the subs' magnetic field and the hard drives. There must be a good deal of shielding around the hard drives. As far as the motherboards electrical paths... they appear to be unaffected as well. Everything runs good anyway. The only problem I have is when I crank the volume up i can sometimes hear the wine produced by the power inverter... very annoying.

Thanks for the help. I been reading up on what to use to power the computer. It appears most recommend to use a DC/DC power supply. I have a old AT motherboard, I am not sure if it will work or I may need to buy a new board.

An AT board will work but it all depends on how fast your computer needs to be... I doubt it supports a fast processor. As for a DC/DC power supply it is a very good idea. I have never done it myself just because I am unsure what a power surge or low voltage or something of that nature would do to the computer components without a surge protector and powersupply.

Get the new Via baby atx motherboard 800mhz. It has all that you will need from rca, vga, and sound card. All that and it the size of a small amp. Thats what I'm about to put in next weekend.

Are you buying a case or building your own? What type of power supply are you going to be using? What type of monitor are you using?

I will be investing in one of these soon.

A good ebay search is "atx case neon." There are some nice cases there.

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to see the photos. That's a great price for the case and motherboard. I may end up order one as well.

I have the same thing! I love it. Did you add a changer or anything like that? Do you use the 8000R or the 9000R in your trunk?

What type of hookup are you currently using to access the data on you PC? Did you run your keyboard or mouse inside the car?

I'd personally take an old laptop(with a gfx xcelerator), tear the sucker apart, put the guts in the
glove compartment, and then wire the lcd from the laptop in the dash..... it'd be pretty ghetto
rigged but better than a full sized computer and uber cheap..... could probably build a swivel type mount
for the lcd to avoid glare and you'd have to do some fancy work with soldering the lcd ribbon cable, but
it'd be cheap. As long as yer car was tinted and you had a swiveling mount for the lcd it'd look perfect
I would think.....(Although I have never tried to mount a laptop in a car). Hmm..... anyone ever tried this?
Edit: The laptop components would also run hella cooler than pc components...... dont want yer car computer
overheating and eating **** in the middle of a movie
