6x9 connection clip removal problem

i read a undestood all the DIY for removin the back panel, but that plug that goes ontot he rear 6X9s is confusin me a little. it looks as simple as pushin sides in and pullin, but i dont want to break it cause ive tugged on it pretty firmly. am i missin somethin, or do i just need to pull harder. maybe a link to a DIY that includes this part would be all i need. thanx in advance

got the plug out. i got brave. i dont see how to connect the plugs to new speakers. does that plastic piece come off of the speaker.

well, the wire commin from the stereo has the male end of it. am i supposed to attach the female end to the new 6x9 somehow? ive never done this with this connection stuff. sorry, please give me a little more help.thanx

with the new speakers there shoulda came some cabling with a connection of some type to connect to your new speakers and one end with bare wire. either get some crimp connectors from an auto store, i really like the tap in connectors, nice and easy and its lets u leave your stock harness intact. or you could cut off the oem harness and solder the new connectors in.

they are new speakers, but they were taken out of my friends car he totalled. i have 2 wires like 2-3in with two diff size connectors for each speaker

well once thier connected to the new speaker you can either solder the bare end to your cars wiring or use a crimp connector to connect it
