paCoupe Front Door Speakers

Hey all,
I read the DIY about replacing the front door speakers but I am having problems still. After I got the factory speakers out, I can't figure out how to put the aftermarket ones in it's place. I thought that I could just screw the new speaker into the old mounting bracket but I can't find out how to get the old speaker out of it's housing. Is there a way to do it with the hardware provided or do I have to order the kit from crutchfeild.
Thanks All!
Mike

i remember readin of 1 member (forgot name) who put it in the factory housing but he had to customize it.

SCOCHE makes an adapter, u just have to drill 3 small holes on your door.

i have a pair for sale if you want to buy it

That plastic bracket is part of the factory speaker. It does not come off. I had to drill new holes in my door.

I ended up just cutting out the speaker itself from the plastic housing, then drilled 3 holes into the housing itself and just mounted the aftermarket speaker right on the factory housing. It worked out just fine.

I did it as well, I took a jigsaw and just cut the speaker off of the plastic ring. Worked very well. If you don't care about keeping the factory speakers around for anything just take something and carefully cut around the inside of the plastic ring and punch the speaker out. On the other hand, I wish I hadn't done it because I would like to be able to put my factory speakers back in when I get rid of the car. Oh well.
