Rep Power: 0 Subwoofer Porting Kit????
Hey everyone, this is the last question I have about building my custom box. I need a sub porting kit and I found one on SoundDomain.com. This one is 4" diamater and according to the JL Audio site, thats what it needs to be. Now the depth is a little different. The one on SoundDomain.com extends 12" and according to the JL Audio site, my box needs to have one that is 4"x16.2". The depth of my box is only 12.75". Could someone please clear this up, this is the only thing I don't understand about building my own custom box. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 Lighting audio makes flexi-ports and flexiport extensions...most people though just use ABS plumbing joints to curve the port to get it to desired length

Rep Power: 0 well if I use an abs join to exted the piping, I guess I will use a straight piece to extend the port the rest of the way, correctsd me if im wrong. I know the the port will have to bend to the left since the port is on the right side of the box, but is there a certain angle that I need to bend the abs piping when making it a total of 15"?

Rep Power: 0 no angles..you can use a 90 degree U joint if you must...in my home theater setup I have 56" long ports in 4 cubic foot boxes..their snakes insude using U joints..
You can probably use a 90 degree angle for your application..and yup..just continue it with straight pipe..
