Faceplate Won't Close

Faceplate Won't Close
anybody had this problem before? i have an Alpine CDA-7977 (one w/ blue buttons).
i go to change a cd while i wait for my car to warm up. it folds down like normal but it won't take in my next cd. i then try to press the eject button to fold the face back up but it doesn't do anything. i try another cd and this time, it takes it in but the face is still folded down and it won't play.
any solutions, the manual doesn't say anything.
