tweeters with stock speakers
I have an LX
we never got tweeters in our cars
if I were to get aftermarket tweeters and install it on my car how would it sound
I dont have an aftermarket speaker system, only an aftermarket HU.
My friend says itll out balance the stock speakers, making more harsh highs and mess everything up.
how true would that be
help would be appreciated

btw im getting the tweeters that are in the market place, the 300 WATT dome tweeters

I would not recommend just getting tweeters. Get components. 300 watt tweeters may be nice but being powered off the HU amp will do them no justice. If you get components then your front mids will match better with your highs. But you can set it up the way you are talking of and it will work fine. Your new tweeters won't mess anything up unless you are powering those off an external amp.

cool
actually Im confused about your wording there
tweeters will be bad if im just powering it off the HU amp, but I can go ahead and install them without any other components and it should be just fine?
I dont have an external amp, so I will need to connect it to the HU...

I put a set of Pioneer tweets in the doors, along with a set of two-way kenwoods in the stock locations. Sounds great running off the kenwood cd/mp3 hu. I do plan on getting another amp to run the front speakers eventually though. It does sound better amplified, whether they're components or coaxials and tweeters.

The crossovers will make or brake the components. Just adding tweets will more than likely sound like ***. You might want to look into a component set, they don't cost all the much and will sound leaps better than the stock speakers if amped.
