WHAT AMP TO POWER JL AUDIO 12W7...
i am looking to buy the 12w7 and sell my two infinity perfect 12's....the amp i am using to run my 12's is a JBL 1200.1 monoblock amp..would this amp be enough to power this beast? please let me know if not any suggestions? thanks in advance...
A 12W7 takes 750 RMS so that amp will do the trick. That sub is a DVC (as are all JL subs) so the lowest amount of ohms you can wire a single DVC sub in is 3 ohms. I'm pretty sure the 1200.1 pushes 1200 watts @ 1 and 2 ohms and 600 @ 4 ohms so 3 ohms will have you right in the middle around 800. You're good to go! RMS ratings for constant output..as in 24 hours playing the same note.....
The sub can handle a good 1000 watts for musical applications.. and about 3000+ for SPL Burps..
