Alpine CDA-7893 INSTALL..........

Hey everyone, just got my Alpine CDA-7893 unit in the mail today and when I looked at all the wires on the back of the unit, I started to panic. I thought it would be alot simpler to install. There is a plug that goes in the back of the unit with all the wires. Red, yellow, orange, a few greens and blues, pink, grey, white, and a few purple as well. Some are striped and some aren't. Above that plug with all these wires, there are several other very thick wires. I think these are only for amps, subs, and XM Radio, which I don't have, but im not sure what these wires go to. Now, whenever I get my install kit in the mail, that comes with a install harness. Could someone please clear up all these wires and mess? I mean, does the harness come with all the wires coming out of it that are coming out of the back of my unit as well? If so, then it would be alot easier to install. But anyway, I would really appreciate you alls help on this matter. Thanks!

YOu'll understand better once you get the adapter in the mail. Make sure you cut the top of the package off with scissors or soemthing so the wiring chart doesn't get messed up. Just juse your alpine manual and the adapter package to match them up. You won't need several of the wires coming directly off the alpine. It's very easy, you just need the other package. Most of the wires are colored the same on the alpine harness and the adapter so it's really just a matter of matching.

No amp, you won't connect that wire coming off the alpine at all. Power wire will come off alpine and go direct to batt or main fuse box. The remote wire off the alpine won't be hooked up either and one other for dimming I think. YOu'll see, it's real simple.

Yea, it's easy once you have the harness. Just match the wire on the harness with the function on the HU harness.
