The air space with that DIY is kinda small, I did the calculation once and it was only .5 CF per sub which is kinda small for 12's. It might be OK for 10's. If you're gunna use 12's I'd reccommend taking out the spare tire and measureing exactly how much room you have to work with. Most 12's need like .85 - 1.0 CF sealed and even more ported to sound good.

well a easier way to bulid a box in the spare tire well , is buiild a top plate and build sides .. and drop it in , and make sure you have the contours of the trunk well .. thats what i did .. cause i needed the space for my 12 " subs ..
