Rep Power: 457 Worth the upgrade?
I'm kind of thinking of upgrading the current HU that I've got and I'm undecided if it'd be a wise idea or not.
Currently I have a Pioneer Premier DEX-P1R HU. It's probably one of the best HUs I've ever seen. Quite a few people that are into car audio are jealous of this HU and want it for themselves. I've actually had offers to sell this HU. What's so sweet is that's really tweakable. Best thing about it is it's 13-band EQ. The thing is a beast and I really have a hard time letting go of it, but it is a few years old. This was Pioneer's top-of-the-line HU for like 3 years running.
Now, I've been looking at some other HUs that offer some cool functions, like mp3 playback, but are lacking in the tweakability. I'm sticking with Pioneer as I think they make a great product for the price. Now, I'm looking at the Pioneer Premier DEH-P740MP and the Pioneer Premier DEH-P840MP. Now, I'm leaning towards the DEH-P840MP, as I feel you should buy the best that you can afford. It's a sweet, sweet deck and has tons of options on it.
What I'm asking you audiophiles is this - Should I upgrade my HU to something newer, or should I stick with what I've got? It's a really hard decision to make so I want to hear what you guys think. Also, if you guys can give me links as to where to purchase either one of these HUs online, that'd be great.

Rep Power: 326 If you are unhappy, do it. If you want something better, do it. If you don't want to, don't do it. Its really your call. You are the one who has to live with it, so do whatever works for you. After all, you'll be using it day to day, no one else will.
