Head Unit Problems

Just finished installing my cd player from my old ride into my civic. I used the wiring harness and everything and the CD player works just fine. However, the keyless entry nor the locks work. Also, everytime I turn the key off and then turn it back on I lose all my presets and everything. I searched but couldn't find a problem quite like this. Any ideas?

I have an older model of the Sony CDX-L600X. One problem is that the Constant power wire(yellow) has to be connected to the red power wire to make the cd player come on.

that right there is your problem.... you need a constant power to have these features....

yep.. like they said, check the const. power wire

it was connected to your stock HU.. and plays an important part in your anti-theft system so ive heard (and so i would imagine it would have to do with the keyless entry/lock/alarm arming system)

sorry i cant tell you much more than that.... you might try giving a phone call to a local car audio store / installer who has worked on 7th gen civics

on some models of civics...like my 98 ex...the keyless entry was built into the factory headunit so in order to keep the factory keyless without going with an aftermarket alarm system you'd have to keep a constant power, switched power, and ground on the stock unit and stuff it down behind the dash. circuit city has the harness for this. I put my old unit down behind where the factory pocket went and designed a nice little custom gauge pod in that area since there wasn't enough room to keep the factory pocket there with the radio behind the console.
