interior neon help
ok.. i bought 2 12 inch street glow optx mini-neons to go under the dash..
i bought a 6 terminal distribution block, inline fuse holder (what amperage fuse do i need??), wire splices and a SPDT switch from radio shack to wire this up with
i'm planning to tapping into the power that goes to the cig lighter.. but where am i going to go from here in terms of wiring the switch and the fuse to the distribution block and the neons?
BTW, i cut the end off of the neons, but the neons had the transformers in a SEPERATE little box thingy, now is that bad?
UPDATE: there's just barely enough wire to hook the neon back up to the transformer with some butt connectors or whatnot if need be
thanks in advance

All the accessories look good. When I did mine I used the exact same equipment from Rad Shack. I used two 4 position dist blocks since I have 3 neons in my car.
You should get a jumper bar for the distrobution block. They come in sections of 8. You will need to cut off two sections that are 3 positions long. This will bridge 3 for the positive lead, and 3 for the negative lead.
I can't imagine needing over 1 or 2 amps for the fuse as long as you are just powering neons.
Wherever you tap the power put a fuse immediately, then run a wire to the switch, from the switch to the dist block, from the block to the neons.
As long as you just cut off the plugin, and the transformers are still in the loop, you are ok. If you cut off the transformers you are in trouble.
I slapped on an example diagram of doing this, but using a relay and the HU as a turn on. This way the neons are indirectly controlled by the radio and only come on if the radio is actually turned on.
