One thing to keep in mind about alarms and security systems is that the people who install the things have the most knowledge about how they operate. These are usually the people who would know what you have in your car and how to disarm it.
The moral of the story is...go to a reputable place. Chances are if they pay their employees well, the employess won't be disgruntalled and take you address off of a reciept and come looking for your fancy gear!
