sound deadening

okay...i'm wanting to quiet my interior down b/c i'm sick of the road noise whilst flying down the interstate. acoustic enhancement would just be a plus. i'm wondering what part of the car i should start with i.e. doors, trunk, floor, etc. that would give the biggest improvement. i'e searched but i couldn't find any definite answers. any ideas would be appreicated.

For stereo purposes, door panels are the most common place to start. If you have subs in your trunk then I would line the trunk also but if you don't then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Most of the road noise you are getting (from the tires and engine), I dunno how much you can really do about it. You can try putting insulation around the firewall and floorboards.

Sound deadning matt deadens resonances..it's doesn't really absorb sound.. For that you'd want some sound absorption material.. Also.. the doors, firewall, trunk floor and roof are where almost all the noise come in... I did my entire car in 2 layers of brown bread and it was fairly quiet..then I added L comp to the doors roof and firewall and it's like driving in a lexus or Benz..VERY quiet...go to B-Quiet.com and look into brown bread and V-Comp or L Comp if your feeling saucy..

Cheers
