Like I said before, soldering and covering with heatshrink tubing is best. It's not worth the risk of a short by using tape.
If you don't have access to a soldering iron, here's two other ways to do it and you only need pliers.
You can use Crimp-On Butt Connectors. Just put a wire in each end and crimp both ends.
Another method is to use Wire Tap-Ins. These can be used to connect two or three wires together. These actually lock shut after you crimp them, so they won't come undone.
I've attached a pic of each below, the first being the butt connector. You can get either one at Radio Shack or any electronics supply store for a couple bucks. Do it right and you won't have to worry about it later!!

ya i think the butt connectors would be easiest/best but i was too cheap/lazy to get them so i taped it.. and naw it was my first time ever installing something electrical.. i just made sure i taped it up good.. first twisted the wires together all good, then taped it making sure it wouldnt unravel.

the panel above the cup holders where the A/C adapter thing is.. IS IT held by screws? i tried to pull it out with full force and it won't budge =(
I have no idea how to use Crimp-On Butt Connectors or Wire Tap-Ins. but i guess i'll take a look at it wen i reach futureshop.
I got the Wire Harness and it has a small plastic tube at the end with little big of wiring exposed in the middle. Am i suppose to take off this smallplastic tube and then twist?

no that peice isnt held on by screws, only clips.. just start working on one corner and pull... dont be a p***y, use some strength. i think i broke a clip but who cares theres like 5 more to hold it on.
as for the harness, it has the plastic/rubber tube around the end of the wires right? this is so that you wont have to strip the wires, just pull on those and the wire is exposed.
