Pioneer Premier display?
I recently have a Clarion Head unit, but I'm very mad that I can't see the display unless I sit way up near the windshield. I'm looking at geting a Pioneer Premier DEH-P740MP because of it's organic display. Will I be happy with the display on this unit? Can you really see it from all angles?
I have the DEH-P740MP and I don't have the contrast all the way up, but I can see it pretty well during the day. I could turn it up, but haven't gotten around to it. My old Sony was worse, I couldn't see it at all during the day without moving my head around. The angle really kills it, but the Pioneer does pretty well, I think it might partly be because of the nature of the dot matrix.
I haven't turned up my contrast mostly because i don't have the dimming feature hooked up. It's pretty bright at night.

i have the DEH-7400MP, its just like the premier 740MP, but it has a few less features. the display is easy to see, VERY bright, its a great unit, BUY IT, NOW!!!!!!!
I had a 2 year old Pioneer 7000R, worked freaking great. Just couldn't see it ever. I switched to the 7400MP so I could actually see it.
It is by far the best deck I have ever had for visibility.
It has a setting of 1-15 for the brightness. I generally leave mine on 15 for 90% of the time. Even in bright sun it rocks.
What I have now is actually the opposite problem. At night around town it is fine, but in the sticks it is too bright. Sometimes I have to lower it down to 3 or 4. But I only have this when I am travelling in the country. Like on really dark back roads or highways WITHOUT streetlights or anything. Distracts from my driving. Otherwise it is fine.
