head unit help plz

the other day i started up my car and now my head unit aint reading cd's anymore. it was workin fine before i turned my car off that day, but now it wont work. any ideas?

my friend had that problem once, so he threw it away & bought a new one.

but on a serious note, how old is the unit?, what kind is it? did you try a cleaner?..
