Cleaning Power stiring Fluid

I am working on installing a system in my girlfriends '93 Altima. She had a big bottle of Power steering fluid that opened and spilled all over her trunk, and it has been that way for awhile. The fluid is all over her trunk and it is in her wheel well....I figured we can clean this out. However, she took the carpet to the laundry mat to wash it. She called me to let me know that the fluid did not come out. What can I do to get this fluid out of the carpet?? I can probably just scoop out the excess in the wheel well with a cup, but the trunk is still greesy as heck. I am mainly concerned about the carpet though.

Any suggestions? Thanks

sounds like a great excuse to replace it with some wack custom stuff with fiberglass and whatnot

I am gonna try and soak the carpet in a degreaser, and clean the trunk by hand...this is my g-frinds car not mine, so I don't really want to spend a lot of time doing this. I am just pissed because I spent so much time putting in the speakers and all of the wiring, so I just want to hook up the amps so that the speakers work!

Thanks for your ideas all!

Well Mo your girl never knew it happened until she read this post....j/k

I had this happen to I had a quart of motor oil leak into the trunk, just go to your local Ace Hardware type place and just get one of their rug cleaners, or just build her a whole new trunk floor out of MDF and turn it into a wicked system!
