doh!

being the lazy person that i am, i finally got up to do the DIY amp wiring. it was taking a while since i was doing it alone, so i ended up not finishing cause i had to go to work. i had my power wire hooked up to the battery so i just electric taped the other end so it wouldnt touch anything. well the inline fuse holder wasnt screwed onto anything cause i couldnt decide where to mount it. so i left it hanging. well on my way to work i was on the freeway and all of a sudden i thought i heard a spark or something and my car wouldnt respond to my accelerator. i was in the 3rd lane and the car just kept slowing down and the SRS light came on. i pulled over cause i didnt know what happened. i turned off the car and back on and kept going cause i was going to be late for work. during the rest of the way the car hesitated to respond and the light came on a few more times. i pulled into the lot and the inline fuse was blown. so now im scared to know what else i could of messed up. it might just be in my head but i think my radio reception has more static than usual.

does the power cable drain any power from the battery if its connected to the terminal but nothing on the recieving side?
how did the fuse blow? was it cause the holder touched the car or what?
what does SRS mean and what could i have screwed up?

sometimes im an idiot and kinda careless. i felt that nothing could actually go wrong since there was nothing hooked up to the wire
well i guess i'll have to learn from my mistakes

If it's not connected it drains no power...it has to have a ground for current to run through it
