Took apart my door to install my jl comp and found my stock speakers mounted in this plastic thing. How did you guys take out the old speaker without destroying the mounting piece? while your at it tell me how you got your speaker wire through the rubber to the door(i have the hanger I just dont have the patients)
thanks
Mike

My speakers came with a plastic mounting adapter, so I just took out the stock speakers entirely. If you're interested, I got the Kenwood KFC-1668S at Crutchfield. They give you the mounting kits and wiring kits free when you order speakers from them. It saved me the hassle of making mounting plates outta lexan/plexiglas. I'll probably make some plates eventually anyway for the rears, or just get a set of 6x9's instead.
