easiest way to install infinity components--
I'm going to be installing some infinity component 605cs speakers in the front door of my EX coupe and I'm curious what difficulties I may encounter while trying to install these. I figure I'm going to need spacers and stuff for them. I want to know what the easiest way is not necessarily the cheapest way. So if there is something I can go out and buy as opposed to rigging something up, I think I would prefer to buy it, but I dunno. I was going to order the speakers from crutchfield so I could have everything I need and make it easier, but Ikesound.com has the speakers for SOOO much less that I think I would rather order from them and just spend a few bucks or whatever on spacers and stuff to make them mount correctly. Has anybody installed these yet? Are they easy to get in? Also will the tweeter fit easily into the existing pod? Thanks!
ok i have the same speakers installed in an LX. I'll try and answer as many questions as i can. You will need a spacer, 1/2" is a perfeecct size, if you need any larger just use the 1/8" spacers that come with the speakers. When mounting them in the door you have to bezel out a little bit of the stock speaker hole. They are pretty easy to get in though. I dont know about the tweeter fitting in the stock tweeter pod since i had an lx, they had no pods. included is a pic of my tweeter. I took mine to a shop and they installed those speakers for under $100 (my dad paid for it if i painted the inside of the garage). They are super good speakers though. You can keep teh x-over in in the console underneath the e-brake.
i know, i told him buy the paint and i'll do it. but he hasnt bought the paint or said anything about it. i think he forgot, i hope he doesnt go to this site ever and get remindedhaha
