ok i searched and no help. i just went to circuit city to buy the metra mounting kit. i was talkin to the guy that installs them and he said that whenever he installs aftermarket radios into my car ('01 EX) that they have to KEEP THE STOCK CD PLAYER somewhere in the car! they said they have to do that for me to keep my keyless entry working. that really sux! where does everyone else keep their stock HU's, and what wires do i have to keep connected for my keyless entry to work?

Don't listen to him, he doesn't know what he's talign about. it was just a year or two of the 6th generation civic that had that design flaw, it was promptly changed and hasn't been like that since. Many of us havechanged our HUs sucessfully without needing to keep the stock HU.

it does? well im gonna return the metra kit i just got from circuit city b/c one of the clips was snapped off. i guess i'll check the american intl kit out.

just installed new HU. and everything works fine!! yay, thanks guys
