is this box size correct

I had a box made for at tweeter for my jl 10w3. my question is the box sizeis 17 inches wide, 15 and 1/2inches tall and 8 inches deep. is this the right size. i am powering it with an xtant 3001 amp. is this amp sufficient to power the sub. thaks

If that box is sealed, then it is most likely a tad too big. Taking into account thickness of the wood (approx. 1/2 inch), that box is right at 1 cu. ft. The spces for that speaker according to the JL Audio website call for a sealed enclosure 0.6-0.9 cu ft. If that box is ported, then it may be okay (kinda small after the displacement of the woofer). Ported specs are 1.0-1.5 cu ft. But if it sounds good to you, then that's all that really matters. That amp should be more than adequate to power that speaker.
Power ratings:
JL 10w3v2 : 300 rms
Xtant 3001 : 150 rms x 2 = 300 rms[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

Yeah, it should be 3/4 in wood, but alot of shops like to skimp on that and use the cheaper 1/2 wood. I dunno what the boys at Tweeter use, but I do know that alot of boxes at Best Buy here in Atl. use 1/2 in.

cheap bastards... i wanted to use 1 inch on my custom trunk, but the store only had 3/4 inch MDF
