Difference in Mid Bass, and Larger Bass?

Difference in Mid Bass, and Larger Bass?
I have the 3-way Pioneer Speakers ts-a1667..but how do u tell the Difference in sounds of the Mid Bass vs. the Wider Bass...I don't know what sounds to pick out for..someone help me

i know some who whine that their $3000 system doesnt sound as good as their $250 set of headphones......
