Will the lights dim??
Hey My friend is doing my system install this week, and I wanted to know how much of a drain the system will have on my cars electrical system. For amps I only have one, a Rockford Fosgate 700S going to 2 12 inch rockford fosgate HE2's in a sealed box. Is this going to make my lights dim? Will I have to get a bass cap? Or will I have to get a higher amp alternator?
Also I saw a post on installing door speakers, something about needing a kit. Is this true?? Where can I get this kit? Will a local car stereo store sell it? Or is there a way to get the speakers in without using the kit?
Thanks for answering my questions.

You lights will dim mildly......a 1 farad cap will prevent the dimming..butminir dimming is nothing to worry about..so it's up to you..
For speaker installs there's no spacial kit..all you need a is a pair of speaker spacers..

Go buy a decent compassitor it will cut down on any dimming of your lights. I'm running one MTX 15" I eats power like candy. at first my lights would actually flicker everytime the bass hit. compassitor stop most of it.

OVER TIME? Time has nothing to do with it! The dimming of thew lights is due to the amp(s) taking power away from your cars electronics (ie lights). This is not good for a car. Over time (and this is where time EVER comes into play) you will damage yourt cars alternator. If you're having no probs, great, but a cap is the way to go if you ever get a larger amp.
you're going to want a cap with that kind of power. A cap doesn't just protect your alternator, it gets more power to the amp which means clearer, deaper bass, which is a very good thing
HEY JOHNDOE, where do you think that power comes from, YOUR ALTERNATOR!!! A cap simply holds charge so that your amp, during music peaks, can have adequate current available. A CAP DOES NOT PRODUCE MORE POWER. CONSERVATION OF ENERGY, EVER HEAR OF IT??
