Spade connectors necessary? Ground wire?

I screwed up the spade connector for my ground wire (to attach to amp), so I substituted with one of the "o" connectors. Is there any reason that people recommend a spade connector for this connection?

Also, for my ground wire, I just put it under a big bolt under the seat. I scrapped away some of the paint to get a good contact and just sandwiched it beneath the bolt. Is this a good method or can I or should I use a spade connector or something for the ground connection?

Spades aren't necessary..just prevent the wire from moving around a little a fraying.. for a ground..it's highly reccomended to use a ring terminal for best connection...

Yeah, it does seem pretty ghetto!

Umm... a manual I have says that spade connectors should be used so that in an emergency things can be disconnected quickly. But I don't see how somebody would have to unplug their amp & sub quickly?!
