6" subs in rear deck location???

Ok, I read that you can in fact put 6" subwoofers in the rear deck location of a sedan. However, I wanted to know a few things.... 1.) do you need an amp to pwoer these small amps or is the factory headunit enough to do the job. and if an amp is needed, what size, etc... 2.) do they get wired to the stock factory speaker wires 3.) Will I only hear bass out of these or highs as well, in other words, will having the subs back there and regular speakers in the doors balance eachother out or will it be too bass heavy?? Thanks. any help is appreciated.

You can put 6" speakers in the rear deck. Its up to you what type of speakers you put in - whether coaxials or woofers.

- Get an amp if youre going to put a 6" woofer(Sub). Dont need one if you are putting coaxials.

- Its best if you rewire everything but its not necessary.

- subs produce low frequencies and no highs. Cross them over at the frequency they need to play up to. It will only be bass heavy of you do not tweak it right. You have to adjust amp gains and all to attain a balanced sound.

a nice 75Wrmsx2 amp would do the trick..HU power would not for sure. Also you would have to build some MDF rins to reinforce the flimsy rear deck. Using bigger wiring would be quite the wise thing to do as the factory wiring is quite small and can only really handle about 50Wrms before the resistance in the wire becomes a big factor.

Cheers
