Odd Problem with Deck/Speakers, HELP!

Hey fellas. I just picked up my '02 Silver EX Coupe two days ago and love it! The problem. I hooked up my Clarion DXZ715 with the correct wiring harness I picked up from best buy along with the plastic trim and all. Everything worked/sounded great. Later on that night I noticed sometimes when I started the car there was no sound. The deck lit up, showed that it was getting reception (when on tuner). Now, I would turn the car off, back on - and the sound would return! This morning when I started her up, no sound. I tried turning the car off and back on, but no luck. I pulled the dash out and triple-checked all my connections and in-line fuses and everything is good. But still no sound! Does anyone have any idea what this may be? The guy at the local car audio shop said that clarion units have a sensor thats senses overheating, and will shut off the internal amp - but the car was nice and cool in the garage all night long. Any help would be great, Thanks!

Ben

It could be the harness you used. With mine, some of the pins came loose so you wouldn't hear anything from that speaker. I would check the pins in the harness to make sure they are all making good contacts.

My stock radio cut out one afternoon. It was still working, just no sound. The next morning it worked again. I just installed a new pioneer yesterday. It worked fine. This morning it worked fine too. Then all of a sudden it just cut out. Still working, just no sound. I turned it off a few times, and after a couple tries with no sound it finally came back on with sound. I'm starting to think that there's something wrong somewhere in the factory's wiring. I'm pretty sure its not my wiring, especailly since it happened with the stock radio once too. Keep me updated if you find anything out.

First i've heard of this propblem...hmm. It could be the wiring harness, or even one of Honda's wiring harnesses. Are you both still using OEM Speakers?

oops. I put in my own speakers a week ago. Yesterday I took the door panel off to try and find the source of a rattle, and I noticed that I had left one of the speaker wires exposed, and it was pretty close to the door frame. Probably the reason.

I'd assume so..you were most likely shorting the amp and putting it into protection
